Black Pond Vet Service and Whit Acres Farm have teamed up to provide routine breeding services for our clients.  Such services include, but are not limited to, the following:

•   Artificial insemination of fresh/cooled semen

•   Artificial insemination of frozen semen

•   Collection, processing, evaluation and packaging/shipping of fresh, cooled stallion semen

Fees and Guidelines:

Black Pond’s veterinary fee for artificial insemination of fresh/cooled semen is $325 for one estrus cycle.  The fee for artificial insemination of frozen semen is $500 for one estrus cycle.

     This fee includes the following: 

•  Rectal examinations

•  Ultrasounds

•  Receiving of semen shipment, processing of paperwork

•  Evaluation of semen prior to insemination

•  Artificial Inseminations

•  First pregnancy check via ultrasound at 14-16 days

     This fee does NOT include the following:

•  Medications (i.e. sedation, oxytocin, hCG, lutalyse, etc.)     

•  Additional procedures (i.e. uterine culture/cytology, uterine lavage, etc).

•  Daily mare care/board to be paid to Whit Acres Farm ($30 per day).

     Please note the following:

•  Mares must be boarded at Whit Acres Farm for our breeding station fee to apply.  Note that you will not incur barn call charges while your mare is with us.

•  Mares must stay at Whit Acres Farm through the first pregnancy check at 14-16 days.  It is recommended that mares stay with us for at least 25 days prior to leaving Whit Acres.  This is to ensure that pregnancy is confirmed and well-established prior to shipping.

If your mare is not pregnant after the first insemination attempt, veterinary care during each subsequent cycle will be    discounted $100.  Mare care/boarding fees still apply.
